GDPR Compliance

Kamili Labs LLC is committed to compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland.

1. Data Controller

Kamili Labs LLC acts as the data controller for personal data collected through the Kamili Help Desk marketing website and account registration. When you use Kamili Help Desk to manage your customers' support tickets, Kamili Labs acts as a data processor on your behalf.

2. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Contract Performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing necessary to provide the Kamili Help Desk service.
  • Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): Product improvement, security monitoring, and fraud prevention.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Analytics cookies and marketing communications (where applicable).
  • Legal Obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): Tax records, anti-money laundering, and regulatory compliance.

3. Data Subject Rights (Articles 15-22)

Under GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of Access (Art. 15): Request a copy of your personal data.
  • Right to Rectification (Art. 16): Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to Erasure (Art. 17): Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Right to Restriction (Art. 18): Request restriction of data processing.
  • Right to Data Portability (Art. 20): Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to Object (Art. 21): Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Right Regarding Automated Decisions (Art. 22): AI features are assistive only; no fully automated decisions with legal effects are made.

4. Data Protection Officer

5. Cross-Border Transfers

Kamili Help Desk data is primarily stored in the United States. For EEA users, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission for data transfers outside the EEA. Enterprise customers can select EU data residency for full in-region storage.

6. Data Processing Agreement

When you use Kamili Help Desk to manage your customers' data, a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) governs our role as a processor. Enterprise customers receive a custom DPA. Standard DPA is available upon request for all paid plans.

7. Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. A list of EU supervisory authorities is available at the European Data Protection Board website.
